Teaching health professionals and blowing bubbles – why I love being an ADOS trainer by Dr Fiona Desira

As bubbles and laughter fill the air I reflect on the fact not many people get to see some of the leading experts in their field at play alongside our other valued colleagues. But they are not just having fun because they need to let their hair down – they are learning the principals of ADOS.

Dr Fiona Desira contacted me to be the ghost writer for a contributory blog post, for the Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, about why she enjoyed her role as a Autism Diagnosis Observation Schedule trainer. Dr Desira provided me with some bullet points outlining what she would like to include in the blog post which I followed up with some questions to fill in any gaps. I wrote the blog title and copy, identifying a line I believed would engage the reader’s attention, and ensuring the tone and context was appropriate for the audience.
